The Antoinette Hotel
|
An official conference accommodation, the Antoinette Hotel is within 5-10 minutes walk from the Knights Park Campus of Kingston University. Forty rooms have been reserved at this hotel for the conference. July is a very busy time in Kingston because of Wimbledon and the Hampton Court Flower Show. As a result, these rooms can only be held for the conference up until twelve weeks before the conference (13 April 2016). They must be booked by this date or the hotel will release the rooms to the general public. Any enquiries made after this date would be subject to availability and at the best available rate.
Once reserved, the hotel’s policy is that bookings can be cancelled up to four weeks prior to arrival. Rooms cancelled less than four weeks before arrival will be charged 100% of the rate for a single night.
Furthermore, these rooms are being offered for a minimum four nights stay from the 6 July 2016 (on the assumption that many delegates will be arriving the day before the conference is due to begin).
Room Provision and Rates:
Rooms have television, hospitality tray, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, free WiFi access, and well-appointed bathroom.
To reserve a room, contact the hotel’s reservations department by UK phone at 08445678950 or via email at stay@antoinettehotels.com, quoting ‘Euroslayage Conference’ in order to obtain the special conference rate. A credit/debit card will be required at the time of booking.

Another official conference accommodation and budget option is available via the University’s Seething Wells Halls of Residence. The current cost for these rooms is £30 per night. Located on a secure site, not open to the public, these are single en-suite rooms arranged in flats with four to six people sharing a kitchen. Rooms comprise a single study bedroom and en-suite shower, wash basin, and toilet. Internet access is available. Seething Wells is a straight-forward, twenty-minute walk from Knights Park and Kingston town centre and riverside, and a fifteen-minute walk from Surbiton Station and high speed rail links to London. Surbiton Station is also well served by London taxi cabs.
Approximately 70 rooms have been reserved for the conference, and booking could not be easier. Just follow these simple steps:
1: Click on the link below:
http://www.kucel.co.uk/order.php
2: In the Promotional Code box, please enter : SLG2016
3: Enter the dates you require.
4: Follow online payment instructions.
Please note, owing to the fact that these student rooms are in high demand, they are available for Slayage goers from Monday 4th July until Monday 11th July (meaning you can check in on the 4th, and have to vacate on the morning of Monday 11th). The majority of rooms have been block booked from Wednesday 6th to Monday 11th, but around 30 so far have been block-booked from the 4th, just in case. Please note - and this is really important - all of these rooms are reserved for us for booking by Slayage goers until Monday 23rd May. After Monday 23rd May any rooms not booked by Slayage goers will be released. So, if you wish to stay in this student accommodation, please make sure you book your room BEFORE Monday 23rd May.
If that does not work, just let one of the organisers know (Stacey, Simon, Tanya - see Contacts page).

There are several other reasonably priced hotels and guesthouses within walking distance of campus. There are two Travelodge hotels in Kingston itself, with double rooms from £57 per night, as well as the family-run Hermes Hotel (from £58), Hanna’s B&B (from £50), and The Bull and Bush Hotel (from £65). All of these are within 10-15 minutes walk of campus and local eating places, as well as easily accessible from either Kingston or Surbiton rail stations.
More luxurious options are also available, including The White Hart Hotel or Chase Lodge (a former magistrate’s house) at Hampton Wick (there has been an inn on this site since the building of nearby Hampton Court), Holiday Inn or Hotel Bosco in Surbiton, or the slightly further away Warren House (a Victorian house in landscaped gardens). A detailed list of hotels is available here to download.
Given the excellent public transport network, it would even be possible to stay in central London and travel to the campus each day, should delegates wish to take advantage of the location.
